Competitive Salary 

Social Worker basic salaries of up to  £38,813 (subject to experience) PLUS retention payments

Senior Practitioners are paid up to £42k PLUS retention payments

Generous Retention Payments

Annual lump sums on top of your salary of:

    • 2.5% of  your starting salary payable on the 1st anniversary of your start date
    • 7.5% of your starting salary payable on the 2nd anniversary of your start date
    • 10% of your starting salary payable on the 3rd anniversary of your start date
    • Fixed lump sums payable every year thereafter depending on your grade

Retention payments are only applicable to social workers within the Assessment, Family Safeguarding and Children in Care teams and are subject to satisfactory performance.

Local Government Pension

    • All employees are automatically admitted to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) from the day of appointment, with generous employer contributions.

Great Annual Leave Allowance

    • 24 days annual leave per annum when less than 5 years service. This will rise to 29 days after 5 years, 30 days after 10 years and 31 days after 15 years. (Continuous local government service will be applied where appropriate)

Relocation expenses

    • Up to £8000 is available to those who are living over 25 miles from their new work base at the time of appointment, and move significantly nearer to their new work base. Further detailed terms and conditions apply and can be provided on request.

Maternity/Paternity

    • We offer generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity Pay in addition to Statutory Maternity/Paternity Pay.
